Charlie Widmer
Charlie Widmer has been unanimously selected and appointed as the 19th Connecticut State Troubadour by the Connecticut Commissioner of Economic and Community Development, in partnership with the Connecticut Office of the Arts. His three-year term began on January 1, 2026, and will conclude on December 31, 2028.
The Connecticut State Troubadour is an honorary position, established in 1991, that serves as an ambassador of music and song while promoting cultural literacy across the state. The role exists to celebrate Connecticut’s culture, history, and stories through music, fostering a deeper connection between communities and the arts.
Charlie Widmer is an award winning multi-genre singer, songwriter, guitarist, arranger, actor, and producer based in Connecticut and will be making his debut appearance with us this year. He received his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Western Connecticut State University in 2016 and has been professionally singing and performing ever since.
Charlie possesses a love for - and the vocal aptitude - that is capable of spanning an incredibly diverse arena of genres: from singer/songwriter to modern pop musical theater to opera to bluegrass.
Special Note: His bluegrass band, "On the Trail," will be returning to perform at the farm's Pumpkinseed Hill location again this June. Be looking for complete details!
